KATHLEEN’S VITAL VERSES

Introduction:
“Kathleen’s Vital Verses” are a collection of scriptures I gathered after I rededicated myself to the Lord in 2017. I carried these scriptures on index cards in my purse and read them to my husband, Jim, when he was sick and needed encouragement. Each scripture is important to me and has been vital on my journey. Each “Vital Verse” is followed by a “ Reflection” and then a “Prophetic Word for the Week.” I hope these “Vital Verses” prove vital to you as you walk out your faith and/ or wait on a prodigal to return.
Vital Verse:
“So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” (NIV)
Reflection:
Walking out my salvation is doing everyday life. Am I obedient to God in the day to day?
In doing everyday life, it’s easy to get caught up in the mundane. It’s easy to fall into the trap of doing life my way, following my will, instead of seeking God’s will first.
When I considered a major decision, like a move to Galveston, I sought the Lord’s will. I prayed, spoke to my pastor, and asked the Lord for confirmation, which I did not receive. I didn’t make the move.
However, in the day to day, I am guilty of not diligently seeking His will. I drift into my will, without even realizing it, Although I ask Him to guide my thoughts each morning, there are numerous decisions I make throughout the day without His input. I need to be more God-conscious in my decision-making. God will show up, if I invite Him.
Prophetic word for the week: I will seek His will first.
