“KATHLEEN’S VITAL VERSES”

Introduction:
“Kathleen’s Vital Verses” are a collection of scriptures I gathered after I rededicated myself to the Lord in 2017. I carried these scriptures on index cards in my purse and read them to my husband, Jim, when he was sick and needed encouragement. Each scripture is important to me and has been vital on my journey. Each “Vital Verse” is followed by a “ Reflection” and then a “Prophetic Word for the Week.” I hope these “Vital Verses” prove vital to you as you walk out your faith and/or wait on a prodigal to return.
Vital Verse:
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10: 5 (NIV)
Reflection:
Just how do I make every thought obedient to Christ? I compare every thought to the scriptures. I challenge every thought, my thoughts as well as thoughts from the enemy, against what God says.
Right now, I am struggling with my weight. It would be easy to believe that I am not good enough as I am. The enemy wants me to feel bad about myself because I am not as thin as I once was.
But scripture does not define me by my weight. Scripture tells me that I am a daughter of God. See 2 Corinthians 6:18. Scripture tells me that I am a new creature in Christ. See 2 Corinthians 5:17. “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14(NIV). I am complete in Christ. See Colossians 2:10 . In Christ, I am enough.
I am a spirit with a soul and body. My body is a temple of the Lord, and I am called to be a good steward of it. See 1 Corinthians 16:19-20. However, my body does not define who I am. My Creator is the only one with the authority to define me. And He says I am enough.
Prophetic word for the week: In Christ, I am enough.
