KATHLEEN’S VITAL VERSES

February 24, 2026
Vital Verse:
‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (NIV)
Reflection:
This is a tough verse when all its implications are considered. Jesus is claiming that the only way to God the Father is through Him. This verse excludes all the other religions. Jesus is saying we can’t access the Father, our Creator, through Buddha, Mohammed, etc.
Moreover, we can’t access the Father on our own merits. We can only have access to the Father through Him. If this were not true- if we could make it on our own or through another religion, then Jesus died and rose again for nothing.
I used to think this scripture was unfair. I thought God was discriminating against people based on ethnic background. I didn’t have faith that all people had opportunies to know Jesus, whether through family, friends, missionaries, dreams etc. After all, God gave His only Son to the world, not a select group.
In this verse, Jesus is promising me access to the Father: Access that gentiles did not have in the Old Testament; access that Jews only had through the prophets. Under the New Testament, we all have access to the Father through Jesus.
Prophetic word for the week: In Christ, I have access to my Heavenly Father.
